Rūdolfs Dzirkalis

Hey,

I'm a whipmaker from the Baltic States - Latvia

I LOVE adventuring — exploring landscapes, forests, and coastlines. Making whips is an extension of my love for the nature around me. I am (to my knowledge) the only person practising this craft in my region, I feel I have a unique opportunity to share a piece of this unknown place with others through my craft.

I have 3–4 years of experience, during which I have focused heavily on improving every aspect of my whipmaking. Over this time, I have made several hundred whips.

The most joyful experience for me is seeing people get excited about the whips I have the privilege of making for them.

I am a member of the Homo Faber Guide, which hand-selects artisans from around the world across a wide range of crafts.
